Concerto in D Major, Op. 10, No. 3 var., "The Bullfinch" MS 580, Ct 51, Manchester Manuscript, GB There were six volumes copied in this microfilm, and the parts for this work were in V.1 - Flute or Viol. V.2 - Oboe or Viol. V.3 - Viol. or Bra... V.5 - Cello or Bassoon V.6 - Basso Cont. Movement 1 - Allegro This movement has 117 meas. like RV 90 in the Giordano 31 microfilm. Track 1 (Flute) Meas.31 - a missing C#6 at the end of the measure. Meas.87 - third beat was a quarter note instead of four 16ths. (Possibly more interesting this way -- echo effect.) Track 3 (Viol. or Bra..) Meas.29-30 - Rests. In Giordano RV 90 only one measure rest. Meas.33 - This measure was repeated in Giordano RV 90. (Giordano RV 90 obviously correct when you look at the score.) Movement 2 -Largo This movement is the same as RV 90 Giordano 31. The last note of measure 5 is clearly a B5 as it is in RV 90. In Le Cene it is a C#6. B5 makes more musical sense. Movement 3 - Allegro This movement has 151 meas. as does RV 90 in the Giordano 31 microfilm. Tracks 1 & 2 were very light and difficult to read. It was hard to tell if there were as many trills as there were in Giordano. Meas.35\1 - Track 3 did not have a trill like Giordano or Le Cene. Meas.80\2 - Track 3 has a very small note head on E5 with a line above and right of it. It reminds me of a note in RV 442, Mvt.3, Op.10 No. 5a, Meas.29\1, track 1 which made more sense a step higher. so I interpreted it as note with a white dot on it rather than a small note with a line above it. This time it did not look like a note head with a white dot superimposed but a deliberate marking. Giordano RV 90 has an E5 natural. Malipiero had an editorial # Meas.83 - Track 4 had an extra quarter note. Meas.110\12 - Track 1 has a C#6. Giordano, the Manchester manuscript, and Malipiero for RV 90 all had a C# but in Le Cene there was a flat in front of the C6 canceling the # in the key signature.
