a)  The ornaments and grace-notes in this Sinfonia (with the 
exception, according to the Neue Bach Ausgabe, of the appoggiatura- 
trill in m. 12, track 1) were added to P 610 at a later date with a 
different ink, but in J.S. Bach's handwriting.  

b)  L = COMPOUND APPOGGIATURA-TRILL, mm. 12, 23, track 1: The second 
"Accent und Trillo" of the "Exposition", an upward vertical 
stroke at the head of a trill symbol, signifying a prolongation of 
the first upper auxiliary.
